8th Grade Jumpstart on Academics
The Summer Climb Program is designed to help middle school students combat the "summer slide," a common phenomenon where students lose a significant amount of academic progress over the summer break. Studies show that students who do not engage in learning during the summer can start the next school year at a disadvantage. The Summer Climb Program aims to bridge this gap by providing an engaging and challenging academic experience to ensure students are prepared for the next grade and ready for their future high school experience.
Program Overview: The Summer Climb Program spans two, two-week sessions (totaling four weeks) and begins daily at 1:00 PM, utilizing a block schedule similar to Creighton Prep and many local high schools. This allows students to become familiar with the structure of high school scheduling, building confidence for their academic future. Each session is designed to be independent yet distinct, allowing students to benefit from attending one or both sessions.
Pair this afternoon program with morning sports or enrichment camps to create a full-day experience, with lunch provided for full-day participants at Creighton Prep.
