Academics 6th - 7th Grade Summer Climb

6th - 7th Grade Summer Climb

The Summer Climb Program is designed to help middle school students combat the "summer slide," a common phenomenon where students lose a significant amount of academic progress over the summer break. Studies show that students who do not engage in learning during the summer can start the next school year at a disadvantage. The Summer Climb Program aims to bridge this gap by providing an engaging and challenging academic experience to ensure students are prepared for the next grade and ready for their future high school experience.

Program Overview: The Summer Climb Program runs for two-weeks (or four-weeks), beginning at 1:00 PM each day, and follows a block schedule similar to Creighton Prep and many other local high schools. This allows students to become familiar with the structure of high school scheduling, building confidence for their academic future.

Program Goals: The Summer Climb Program is designed to give middle school students a head start on their academic development by reinforcing key concepts and preparing them for the challenges of the next grade level. In addition to improving their academic skills, students will gain exposure to the high school schedule and the kinds of courses they will encounter, setting them up for success as they transition into high school.
